On Lok Sabha LoP and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's speech in Parliament, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju says, "We have made a request to the Speaker to pass a direction that if we have made an unverified statement then we are ready to take a corrective course. But if the Leader of Opposition has lied in the House then he will have to face the rules and regulations of the House. He (Speaker) has already assured in the House that he will give necessary and appropriate directions in this regard."

On Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi's 'Hinduism' remarks in the Parliament, RJD MP Misa Bharti says, "He (Rahul Gandhi) said for all religions and not just Hinduism...He (Rahul Gandhi) didn't say Hindus spread hate, he said BJP spreads hate...Why do they talk about something which happened around 50 years ago...Why do they don't discuss their 10 years...They are not ready to have a discussion on the NEET issue."

Congress MP Rajeev Shukla says, "It is very clear that Rahul Gandhi did not say anything about Hindus. He said that the people of BJP, you call yourself Hindus but you do not follow Hinduism, we are all Hindus, we follow Hinduism. What Lord Shiv said, we follow it and you do not follow it, you do violence, you spread hatred, this is what he is saying to the people of BJP.",

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi says, "NEET students spend years and years preparing for their exam. Their family supports them financially, and emotionally and the truth is that NEET students today do not believe in the exam because they are convinced that the exam is designed for rich people, not meritorious people. I have met several NEET students. Every single one of them tells me that the exam is designed to create a quota for rich people and to create a passage for them into the system and is designed not to help poor students."

Responding to LoP Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Hindu’ remark in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah says, "The Leader of Opposition has categorically said that those who call themselves Hindu talk of violence and do violence. He doesn’t know that crores of people proudly call themselves Hindu. Connecting violence with any religion is wrong. He should apologise."

Lok Sabha on Monday witnessed chaos after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) talk about violence and hatred. "All our great men have spoken about non-violence and finishing fear...But, those who call themselves Hindu only talk about violence, hatred, untruth…Aap Hindu ho hi nahi,” he said. 

Responding to him, PM Modi said, "Calling the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter." However, Rahul said that the prime minister and the BJP do not represent all Hindus.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday recalled interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said, “I was attacked on orders of PM Modi; there were 20 plus cases, house was taken away, 55 hours of interrogation by ED.”

Speaking on the three new criminal laws that come into force today, Union Home Miniseter Amit Shah says, “We have decided the priority of sections and chapters in line with the spirit of our Constitution. The first priority has been given to (the chapters on) crimes against women and children. I believe that this was needed to be done much earlier. An entire chapter with 35 sections and 13 provisions has been added. Now, gangrape will attract 20-year imprisonment or life imprisonment, rape of a minor will attract death penalty, a separate crime has been defined for sexual exploitation by hiding one's identity or making false promises.”,

LoP Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge hits out at the BJP over Agniveer scheme and says, "The morale of the youth has been shattered by bringing an unplanned and 'tughlaqi' scheme like Agniveer...I demand that Agniveer scheme should be scrapped."

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday targeted the BJP over paper leaks and demanded the Supreme Court to monitor the issue of the paper leak. “BJP leaders’ names were mentioned in paper leaks, first, the Education Minister denied any leak and gave a clean chit to the NTA. When the opposition raised this issue, FIRs were filed and only after that did the Education Minister accept the paper leak,” Kharge said in the Rajya Sabha.

Opposition MPs walks out of the Lok Sabha after Speaker Om Birla did now allow discussion on the NEET-UG paper leak before the Motion of Thanks to President’s Address. 

On the new criminal laws that come into effect today, Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal demanded debate and said that the new criminal bills were passed in the absence of over 150 MPs. "The way these criminal laws were passed by suspending 150 MPs...A debate should be done on the laws,” she told ANI.

NEET-UG 2024 Paper Leak: Amid nationwide outrage over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam result, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday raised the issue in Parliament and demanded discussion over the issue.

On the new criminal laws that come into effect today, Congress chief Mallikarjun KHarge said that the new criminal bills were passed in the House in the absence of 146 MPs who were suspended earlier this year. “After the political and moral shock in the elections, Modi ji and the BJP are pretending to respect the Constitution, but the truth is that the three laws of the criminal justice system that are being implemented from today were forcibly passed by suspending 146 MPs. INDIA will no longer allow this “Bulldozer Justice” to run on the Parliamentary system,” he wrote on X.

Several opposition MPs including Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi are protesting outside the Parliament building against the misuse of central agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). 

Parliament is likely to witness heated debates on the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 exam result and on issues of paper leaks when both houses, when both the houses Rajya Sabha (upper house) and Lok Sabha (lower house), reconvene today. ,

Parliament Session LIVE Updates: Congress MP Manish Tewari has moved an adjournment motion to discuss the three new criminal laws, which are enacted today. The three new criminal laws which come into effect today include The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam. These laws replace the decades-old British-era Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act.
