Passport Seva Portal:  The Passport Seva portal, which was down for a few days for technical repair, was restored sooner than scheduled. The Seva portal and GPSP are now operational starting at 7:00 PM IST on September 1, 2024, according to an announcement made on the official Passport Seva website on September 2. This is after technical repair was completed ahead of time. Both citizens and the appropriate authorities can now access the system.

The official website of Passport Seva informed that appointments scheduled on August 30, 2024, would be rescheduled, and applicants will be notified.

A number of fraudulent websites and applications are asking exorbitant fees to gather information from applicants to fill out online forms and schedule appointments for passport applications, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued a warning.

The Ministry has discovered a large number of fraudulent websites and applications that gather applicant data and demand exorbitant payments in exchange for online form completion and passport appointment scheduling.

A number of these bogus websites, including www.applypassport.org, www.online-passportindia.com, www.passportindiaportal.in, www.passport-india.in, www.passport-seva.in, and www.indiapassport.org, utilise domain names ending with .org, .in, or.com.

The government recommends avoiding the aforementioned bogus websites and not making any payments through them for any citizens looking for Indian passports and related services. The official website for the passport services is www.passportindia.gov.in.

The official mPassport Seva mobile app, which can be downloaded from the Android and iOS app stores, is another option for applicants.
