Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai on Wednesday slammed the authorities for poor maintenance of Bengaluru roads by calling it "pathetic". The remarks from Pai came after several videos of waterlogging and damaged roads surfaced on the social media platforms after a few days of rainfall in the capital city of Karnataka. While sharing an image of a damaged road in a post on X (formerly Twitter), the former Infosys CFO questioned the quality of the repair work by the authorities. Several residents of the silicon city of India reacted to the post by sharing their personal experiences of suffering due to the poor infrastructure.

“Pothole engineering in Bengaluru. Pathetic. Big shame. Is this a road repair? Very primitive," stated Pai in his post. He also tagged Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and BBMP Commissioner while sharing an image of a pothole. While reacting to the post, several residents shared their experiences in the comment section and stated that the authority is not taking proper steps to maintain the infrastructure.

"Sad to see poor quality construction of roads to begin with. Even worse is zero maintenance of roads. The fake repair work is a catastrophe itself. Any road which gives away irrespective of any reason within 5 years, the contractors must have damages-fines to pay. The local civic agencies must be held accountable. If a few government officials loose their jobs then they will work well," one of the residents stated.

"Especially in the IT resident and commercial areas they dont care about the roads but they want the taxes from us. Every govt will milk for salaries but fail to provide basic amenities. This is the pathetic state , no one care to change," another resident added.
