Patparganj Assembly Election Result 2025: In a major setback, the Aam Aadmi Party has been defeated by the Bhartiya Janata Party in the Delhi Assembly election. The BJP has made a comeback after 27 years in the national capital by ending the ten years rule of the AAP . Several of the AAP's stalwarts, including party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bhardwaj lost their respective seats.

However, one of the most discussed constituencies in the election was Patparganj. Earlier held by Sisodia, the incumbent AAP had fielded UPSC tutor and motivational speaker Avadh Ojha from the seat. The BJP had given ticket to Ravinder Singh Negi, hyped local leader.

Ravinder Singh Negi managed to defeat Avadh Ojha in the polls by over 28,000 vote margin. While conceeding the defeat, Ojha said that it was his personal loss and the party had nothing to do with it. He added that he could not establish a connection with people in such a short span of time. He emphasised that he will continue to work for the people and would make a comeback.

The Patparganj seat was previously held by the ex-Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia; however, he contested from the Jangpura constituency this time. While the AAP narrowly managed to win from Patparganj in the 2020 legislative polls, the saffron party managed to win this time.

Patparganj Election Result 2025 Live Vote Counting News: After conceeding defeat, AAP's Avadh Ojha said that even second position was not bad. "...I couldn't meet many people, yet the public honored me with the second position. This was my first political campaign, and securing second place is an achievement I am very happy about it... The public might have felt that a change was needed and that another party should also get a chance after a long time," Ojha was quoted as saying by news agency IANS. 

Patparganj Election Result 2025 Live Vote Counting News: AAP candidate Avadh Ojha concedes his defeat after lagging behind by more than 20,000 votes. He stated that he could not able to connect with the people. "It's my personal defeat. I couldn't connect to people... I'll meet the people and will contest the next election from here," Ojha was quoted as saying by ANI. 

Patparganj Election Result 2025 Live Vote Counting News: Ravinder Negi leads by a huge margin of 18,699 votes after 8th round of voting. The trend of Patparganj is similar to that of Delhi. Avadh Ojha's political debut has not benefitted the incumbant party.
