Pawan Kalyan, actor turned politician, on Thursday announced the alliance of his party, Jan Sena Party (JSP), with the Telugu Desam Party of former CM of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, currently lodged in Rajahmundry Central prison.

Jan Sena Party President Pawan Kalyan, while proposing a tripartite alliance consisting of TDP, JSP, and BJP, also said that he would meet Prime Minister Modi to table the idea in front of him. The announcement came just after he met Chandrababu Naidu in prison.

Hailing the decision, he said that it is for the welfare of the people and not just to gain political mileage while addressing the press with Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh and brother-in-law, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.

"I never reverse any decisions which I take based on a thorough study. I have decided to form an alliance and go together to contest in the 2024 Assembly elections against the YSR Congress Party," said the actor-politician.

On his decision to include the Bharatiya Janata Party in the alliance for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, he said, "I have already proposed the idea of allying JSP, TDP, and BJP. The idea will also be tabled before PM Narendra Modi. I hope that the BJP will agree to this proposal for the tri-party alliance for the 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh."

"The arrest of individuals such as former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sends a troubling message about the state of democracy in Andhra Pradesh. The YSRCP's actions have created an atmosphere that compelled me to make the decision to form an alliance with the TDP," added Mr. Kalyan.

Jana Sena Party also posted the significant political stride on X (formerly Twitter).
