Peeragarhi Triple Murder: Fresh details have emerged in the Peeragarhi triple murder case, where an occult practitioner, or godman (baba), has been arrested for allegedly killing three people by feeding them poison-laced "ladoos" in the name of performing a ritual that promised 'dhanvarsha', the police said on Wednesday.

The three victims, discovered dead inside a parked car on the Peeragarhi flyover in northwest Delhi on Sunday, were murdered, according to the police. The "baba", who claimed to have supernatural powers capable of doubling or tripling money, allegedly poisoned them and stole their money.

Initially, investigators suspected suicide as there were no visible external injuries, ligature marks, or signs of a struggle on the bodies.

The accused, identified as Kamruddin alias Baba, a resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, was running a so-called tantric centre in Loni and Firozabad. He was wanted in connection with two separate murder cases registered in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma stated that the self-styled tantrik Kamruddin alias "Baba" killed the three victims as part of a carefully planned conspiracy for financial gain.

Peeragarhi Triple Murder: Shocking Revelations

  • According to the police, Kamruddin convinced the three victims to participate in a special "pooja" for 'dhanvarsha' and instructed them to bring Rs 2 lakh in cash, along with liquor and soft drinks, for the ritual.
  • Kamruddin lured the victims by promising them a large financial windfall through 'tantric' rituals. After gaining their trust, he allegedly poisoned the ladoos, mixed the poison with liquor and soft drinks, and made the victims consume them before fleeing with their money once they had fallen unconscious.
  • On the day of the incident, he allegedly prepared the poison-laced ladoos and travelled with the three victims from Loni to Delhi. During the journey, he offered them liquor, cold drinks, and the poisoned sweets as part of the "ritual."
  • The victims were identified as Randhir (76), a resident of Baprola; Shiv Naresh (42), a property dealer from Nagli Dairy; and Laxmi (40), a resident of Jahangirpuri, the police confirmed.
  • Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma said that Kamruddin was apprehended after a detailed technical and field investigation. He had been involved in a well-planned conspiracy to murder the victims and rob them of their money and valuables.
  • The DCP added that Kamruddin, upon being arrested, attempted to mislead the investigators but failed to provide convincing explanations regarding his movements.
  • According to news agency PTI, liquor bottles, cold drink bottles, empty glasses, mobile phones, cash, helmets, jackets, Aadhaar cards, personal belongings, and other documents were recovered from the car. The three victims were identified as Randhir (76), Shiv Naresh (42), and Laxmi (40), all from areas such as Nangli Dairy, Baprola, and Jahangirpuri in Delhi.
  • Family members of the deceased ruled out the possibility of suicide and raised suspicions about the circumstances of their deaths, prompting the police to initiate an investigation.
  • Sharma explained that the three victims had visited Loni the day before the murder. "On the day of the incident, they again visited Loni and remained in contact with Kamruddin," he said. "Technical evidence revealed that an additional person was present in the car when they were returning."
  • Under sustained questioning, Kamruddin revealed that around two months before the incident, Laxmi had been introduced to him through a person named Salim, a resident of Jahangirpuri. Laxmi, in turn, introduced Shiv Naresh and Randhir to Kamruddin.
  • According to the accused's statement, after the victims consumed the poisoned ladoos and drinks, they began to feel unwell and eventually lost consciousness. Kamruddin then took their cash and fled.
  • A police team arrived at the scene and found an elderly man, approximately 76 years old, seated in the driver's seat, a 42-year-old man who had been removed from the vehicle by passers-by, and a 40-year-old woman lying inside the car.
  • The police confirmed that evidence corroborated Kamruddin's presence in the car at the relevant time. CCTV footage from the route, electronic surveillance, and location data further supported the sequence of events reconstructed by investigators.
  • The officer added that Kamruddin is a habitual offender, with prior involvement in two similar murder cases in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Passerby had noticed the car parked on the service lane of the Peeragarhi flyover, with the three victims lying motionless inside. They informed the police, and a preliminary examination revealed that the victims had died after "ingesting poison", though questions remained regarding the exact sequence of events and the motive behind their deaths.
  • The accused had previously been booked in 2014 under sections 143, 363, and 302 of the IPC at Raja Khera Police Station in Dholpur, Rajasthan. He was also named in another FIR in 2025 under sections 103(1) and 123 of the BNS at Makhkhanpur Police Station in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The police have registered a case at Paschim Vihar East Police Station, and further investigation is ongoing to identify any possible accomplices.
  • All three victims were taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

  • The case came to light on February 8 when a PCR call was received at Paschim Vihar East Police Station reporting three people, including a woman, lying unconscious inside a car, the officer said.
