Despite an increase in international crude oil prices amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, fuel prices for petrol and diesel in various cities across India remained unchanged on March 17.

In the national capital, New Delhi, the price stands at Rs 94.77, while Kolkata remains at Rs 105.45. Other cities seeing no change include Chennai Rs 100.80, Bangalore Rs 102.99, Hyderabad Rs 107.50.

Despite lower prices for petrol and diesel at the pump, household budgets will continue to be impacted due to rising LPG cylinder prices, and state tax differences by locality will continue to create pricing differentials (between cities).

Amid the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, US President Donald Trump urged countries relying on the trade route to form collision to safeguard commercial vessels navigating the disputed route.
