Renowned singer Asha Bhosle died on Sunday at the age of 92. Praising the artist, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a heartfelt post on X.

PM Modi wrote on X that he is deeply saddened by the passing of "Asha Bhosle Ji, one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known. Her extraordinary musical journey, spanning decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts across the world."

The post then read, "Be it her soulful melodies or vibrant compositions, her voice carried timeless brilliance. I'll always cherish the interactions I've had with her."

"My condolences to her family, admirers, and music lovers. She will continue to inspire generations, and her songs will forever echo in people's lives," PM Modi concluded.

Doctor Prateet Samdani claimed that the veteran singer had been suffering from multiple health issues and died due to organ failure. He said, "It is sad news that Asha Bhosle has passed away today." She was suffering from multiple medical complications and died due to multi-organ failure..."

Around two hours ago, Maharashtra's Culture Minister Ashish Shelar also announced the death outside the hospital.

On Monday at 4:00 pm, her final ceremonies will take place at Mumbai's Shivaji Park.

Anand Bhosle, Asha Bhosle's son, also verified the information and provided information for paying last respects. "My mother Asha Bhosle passed away today," he declared. People can pay their final respects at her home tomorrow at 11 AM.

The Singer Who Ruled Bollywood For Ages

Asha Bhosle's death marked the end of an era in Bollywood music. Her music career was long enough. The artist sang around 12,000 songs in various languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and so on.

She kicked off her singing career way back in 1943 with her debut Marathi film song Chala Chala Nav Bala from Majha Bal. Some of her famous dance tracks are Piya Tu Ab To Aaja and O Haseena Zulfon Wali. She proved her versatility later with soulful ghazals such as Dil Cheez Kya Hai and the classical gem Tora Man Darpan Kehlaye.

The legendary artist has won two National Film Awards, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, and India's Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
