Kerala Amrit Bharat Express Train Launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to flag off four new trains, including three Amrit Bharat Express trains and one passenger train, during his visit to Kerala on January 23. These trains include the Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express, Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express, Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express, and a new passenger service between Thrissur and Guruvayur.

The new trains are expected to boost regional connectivity across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed to provide a luxurious travel experience, while ensuring affordable, high-quality services, especially for passengers from lower and lower-middle income groups.

In an official statement, M Senthamil Selvan, Chief Public Relations Officer of Southern Railway, said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala on Friday, 23rd January 2026. In Southern Railway, the Prime Minister will flag off 3 Amrit Bharat Express Trains and a passenger train. The main function will be held at Putharikandam Grounds in Thiruvananthapuram on 23rd January 2026.”

Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express

- Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express (16121/16122) is scheduled to leave Tambaram at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays, and arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 8 PM on Thursdays.

- It is scheduled to link Kerala’s capital with key industrial, educational, and medical hubs in Tamil Nadu.

- During its journey, the train will connect major stations including Tirunelveli, Kovilpatti, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Tiruchchirappalli, and Vriddhachalam.

Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express

- Thiruvananthapuram North-Charlapalli Amrit Bharat Express (17041/17042) will leave Charlapalli at 7:15 AM on every Tuesday and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 2:45 PM on Wednesdays.

- It will strengthen rail connectivity between Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

- During its journey, it will serve major stations including Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Salem, Jolarpettai, Renigunta, Nellore, Tenali, Guntur, and Nalgonda, among others.

Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express

- Nagercoil-Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express (16329/16330) is scheduled to depart Nagercoil at 11:40 AM on every Tuesday and reach Mangaluru at 5 AM on Wednesdays.

- It will connect Tamil Nadu with coastal Karnataka via Kerala.

- In its journey, the train will connect key stations including Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod, among others.
