Pongal Special Trains: Southern Railway To Run Special Services Between Chennai, Coimbatore And Podanur; Check List

Pongal Special Trains 2026: In anticipation of a significant surge in passenger demand during the Pongal festival, Southern Railway has announced to operate several special trains connecting Coimbatore, Chennai, Podanur, and Sengottai.

The festival special trains will run from January 11 to January 21, offering festival-goers a reliable and comfortable travel option for commuters heading home or returning after the celebrations. The trains will feature one 2-tier AC coach, three 3-tier AC coaches, 15 sleeper class coaches and two second class-cum-luggage brake vans, offering options across different travel classes.

Key stations include Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur, Perambur, Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputhur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Tiruchirappalli, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Egmore.
