Puja Khedkar, a Maharashtra trainee IAS officer embroiled in a controversy involving fake disability certificates and identity manipulation in the UPSC, did not show up to record her statement against the Pune district collector in a harassment case, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Saturday. He mentioned that a complaint was registered at the CP office and Puja Khedkar was asked to record her statement.
He further stated that matters related to IAS and IPS are under the jurisdiction of the Centre. This follows the UPSC lodging a police complaint with the Delhi Police against the trainee IAS officer.
"Some matters related to IAS and IPS are under the jurisdiction of the Centre. The probe has started. This afternoon, I learned that she (Puja Khedkar) had made some complaints against our Collector. A complaint was registered at the CP office, and she was asked to record her statement, but she did not come to record her statement... The police will take care of this matter," Pawar said.
Mother's Police Custody Extended by 2 Days
A Judicial Magistrate Court in Pune extended the police custody of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar's mother, Manorama Khedkar, for two more days. She was booked after a video of her threatening farmers with a licensed pistol surfaced on social media.
