Pune Porsche Accident: The Pune Police has formed more than a dozen teams comprising 100 personnel to investigate various aspects of the Porsche car crash involving the 17-year-old son of Pune-based real estate developer Vishal Agarwal, who allegedly mowed down two bike-borne IT professionals after hitting them while driving in an intoxicated state on May 19. The incident took place in the Kalyani Nagar area of the city.
“To ensure that the probe is conducted professionally and effectively, we have deployed multiple teams. Approximately 100 police personnel, including officers, are looking after different aspects of the case," Shailesh Balkawade, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
"This multi-faceted approach aims to cover all aspects of the investigation, ensuring thorough and meticulous handling of the case," Balkawade further said.
The three cases include FIRs about the accident and another against the bar that served liquor to the juvenile. The police have arrested the boy's father, Vishal Agarwal, for allowing him to drive the car without a valid license. The third case involves the wrongful confinement and coercion of the family driver to take the blame for the accident.
In a recent development, the Pune Police on Saturday arrested the mother of the 17-year-old juvenile for tampering with the evidence. The arrest was made after it was confirmed that the boy’s blood samples were replaced with her. Notably, Pune Police has so far arrested the boy's father, grandfather, and his (juvenile's) mother among the family members.
