The 17-year-old boy, the son of a prominent Pune-based real estate developer, fatally knocked down two motorbike-riding software engineers in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, in the early hours of May 19. The crash has ignited widespread national outrage, particularly due to the swift granting of bail to the teenager within just 15 hours. Many have criticised the conditions of his release as inadequate. A 17-year-old boy was granted bail on a surety of Rs 7,500 and an assurance from his grandfather to keep him away from bad company.
