Punjab Road Accident: At least four people died after a bus collided with a car in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district in the early hours of Saturday. The officials stated that all the deceased were residents of Gagret in Himachal Pradesh, adding that the accident was so severe that the car was completely destroyed. They further stated that one passenger got severely injured in the accident and has been admitted to a nearby hospital. While the exact reason behind the accident is not known yet, the collision could have happened due to the dense fog. The officials asserted that a detailed probe has been launched into the matter.

As per Jagran.com, the deceased were the residents of Chalet village in Himachal's Una district. The reports suggest that the deceased Sukhwinder Singh (45), Sushil Kumar (46), Brij Kumar (38), and Arun Kumar (45) were traveling in the car to drop off their friend Amrit Kumar at the Amritsar Airport. The car collided head-on with a state-run bus traveling from Dasuya to Hoshiarpur, leading to their deaths. However, Amrit Kumar sustained injuries and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Station House Officer of Hariana Sub-inspector Kiran Singh stated that the car driver could not notice the bus due to dense fog. "As the car reached near Dosarka, the driver could not notice the bus due to dense fog, leading to the collision," Singh was quoted as saying by PTI.

In a separate incident, a high-speed Audi car mowed down 16 people, leaving one dead and the other 16 injured in Rajasthan's Jaipur. The incident took place on Friday night near Kharabas Circle in Jaipur's Patrakar Colony area when the Audi car rammed into pedestrians and roadside stalls.

Soon after the incident, a large crowd gathered at the accident site. The injured were rushed to the hospital. The police have said that all of the occupants were allegedly intoxicated. The police detained one of the occupants while the other three managed to flee the accident site. The police have seized the vehicle.
