Radhika Yadav Murder Case: In the murder case of former state-level tennis player Radhika Yadav, Gurugram Police revealed that she didn't have her own academy. Instead, she would train aspirants by booking tennis courts at various locations, which her father, Deepak Yadav, strongly objected to. The Gurugram Police produced Deepak Yadav, Radhika's father, in Gurugram Court before the duty magistrate on Saturday and got 14 days of judicial custody granted by the court.

The 25-year-old Radhika would train aspiring players by renting tennis courts at different locations, an arrangement her father disapproved of.

The fatal disagreement reached a horrifying conclusion on Thursday when Radhika was allegedly shot dead at point-blank range by her father at their home in the Sushant Lok area of Sector 57.

Initially, police reports suggested that Radhika ran a tennis academy and that ongoing disputes about money particularly the perception that Deepak was financially dependent on his daughter had led to the crime. However, authorities later clarified that Deepak had his own steady rental income and was not reliant on Radhika's earnings.

"Radhika did not have her own academy. She used to train new aspirants by booking tennis courts at different places. Deepak had asked her several times to stop the training sessions, but she refused. That was the main tussle between the father and daughter," an investigating officer said on Saturday.

The accused, 49-year-old Deepak Yadav, has confessed to the crime, according to police. He was presented before a court on Friday and placed in one-day police custody. During that period, authorities recovered five bullets and one live cartridge from their Sector 57 home. As part of the investigation, Deepak was also taken to a village in Pataudi.

There had also been speculation that Radhika's active presence on social media or her appearance in a music video could have played a role in the murder. However, police have dismissed such links.

"The video was uploaded in 2023, it has no connection with the murder. The accused has repeatedly said that he did not want his daughter to earn through training," Inspector Vinod Kumar from Sector 56 police station stated.

A close relative mentioned that Deepak had always supported Radhika’s tennis journey since childhood but had become increasingly frustrated with her refusal to stop holding training sessions.

According to the post-mortem report, Radhika was hit by four bullets three in the back and one in the shoulder. Her last rites were held on Friday in her ancestral village of Wazirabad.
