Radhika Yadav Murder Case: The Radhika Yadav murder case sent a shockwave across the country. People are still not able to digest how a father can kill his daughter, a rising tennis player, who brought fame to the family. The father was sent to one-day police remand today. 

Radhika, a 25-year-old national-level Tennis player, was shot dead by her father at her home in Gurugram Sector 57 on Thursday (July 10). The police probe revealed shocking details about the murder case. Police said the relationship between the daughter and her father has been strained due to several reasons, including her tennis academy.

Here Are The 10 Highlights Of The Murder Case

1. Mother's Birthday: A News18 report stated that it was Radhika's mother Manju Yadav's birthday on July 10, and she wanted to surprise her mother by cooking her favourite foods. She was cooking in the kitchen when she was attacked by her father. Manju was at home when her daughter was killed. The mother was unwell, so she was taking rest, unaware of the crime.

2. Police Probe: Police on Friday said they were investigating all possible angles in the murder, including what her mother was doing when the incident occurred.

3. Social Media: Police are probing her social media accounts. She used to make reels on Instagram. Music video starring Radhika surfaced after her murder.

4. Motive Behind The Murder: News agency PTI, quoting sources, said Deepak confessed that he killed his daughter because he was often taunted for living off her income. Police, however, in an official statement, claimed that the tennis academy Radhika ran was the bone of contention between the father and the daughter. "Radhika used to run a tennis academy, and her father was not happy with it," Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Singh said. Every other reason apart from the tennis academy is a rumour, and no such thing has come forward during the investigation, the police said.

5. Who All Are Present At Home: According to an FIR registered, filed by the deceased's uncle, Kuldeep Yadav, Manju was present on the first floor of the double-storey home in the upscale Sushant Lok area. Radhika's cousin Piyush, and uncle were also present on the premises of the house.

6. Father's Confession: Deepak Yadav (49) confessed to killing his daughter. He was later arrested by the police. Kuldeep, who lives on the ground floor of the same building, said around 10.30 am, he heard a "loud explosion" and rushed to the first floor.

7. Radhika's Uncle's Statement: "I saw my niece Radhika lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen, and the revolver was found in the drawing room. My son, Piyush, also rushed to the first floor. Both of us picked up Radhika and rushed her in our car to Asia Maringo Hospital in Sector 56, where doctors declared her dead," the uncle said in his statement.

8. Accused's Income: NDTV reported that the accused, Deepak's a monthly income is between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh. He was leading a luxurious life, possessing a luxury farmhouse in Gurugram and a licensed firearm, among other things. He is financially well-off, said a police official.

9. Brother Was Not Present: According to the FIR, Radhika's brother Dheeraj was not present there at the time of the incident.

10. Father Fire Five Rounds: Radhika's father fired at least five gunshots, three of which hit her in the back, and she died on the spot.
