Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma on Saturday lashed out at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, calling him the “Rehman dacoit of Delhi," claiming that he had built “Sheesh Mahal part two." During the press conference, the BJP leader accused the former chief minister of betraying the people of Delhi by opting for luxuries in his bungalow.
In an interview with the ANI, Verma said, "…Delhi's Rahman Dakait, just as a sequel to the movie ‘Dhurandhar’ came out; similarly, we are going to reveal ‘Sheesh Mahal 2’ today…" Kejriwal built the Sheesh Mahal in Delhi when Delhi was suffering from the COVID wave… The people of Delhi were demanding COVID medicine and were dying. During that time, work on Delhi’s Sheesh Mahal didn’t stop for a single day, as per Kejriwal’s orders… When our ‘Dhurandhar’ Delhi voters defeated Delhi’s Rahman Dakait, he moved to Punjab, increasing Bhagwant Mann’s problems."
The deputy CM then recalled how Kejriwal promised the people that he would lead his life like a common man without using any government facilities. Verma accused Kejriwal of betraying the people of Delhi, who rose to power in the name of Anna Hazare and showed pictures of Babasaheb Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. When he lost the elections, he went to Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendra Jain, Sanjay Singh, and Manish Sisodia took possession of government residences near Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s residence. Bhagwant Mann is tense with these people," he added.
Verma said that AAP leaders, including Kejriwal, former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, had taken up residence in a number of government buildings near Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's home.
Verma then brought up Kejriwal's recent relocation to a government villa at 95 Lodhi Estate in Delhi. According to Verma, Kejriwal now has a beautiful bungalow at 95 Lodhi Estate. We were shocked to see the photos of it. The man who claimed to live modestly now leads an opulent lifestyle. Although this house was given to the government, the money used to purchase it was not provided by the government. Every penny invested in this house is private money, despite his previous claim that the PWD made the investment. His personal bedroom resembles a seven-star hotel room in Goa. There are five bedrooms in all.
Verma's accusations were made one day after the AAP suffered a significant political blow when seven of its Rajya Sabha MPs—Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Swati Maliwal, Vikram Sahney, and Rajendra Gupta—left the party to join the saffron faction.
AAP Responds
In the meantime, former Chief Minister Atishi of the AAP responded to Verma's accusation by stating that it was incorrect and misleading. She said that every photo that Parvesh Verma had made public was fraudulent.

"They are not images of the home of Kejriwal ji. Kejriwal ji would open his house, and Rekha Gupta ji and LG sahib should open their own homes to see which is the most opulent. The people will make their own decisions," she wrote in a post on X.
Sanjay Singh also echoed similar sentiments and said, “Parvesh Verma and the TV channels showing the pictures released by him should prepare to face a defamation case. I challenge @gupta_rekha ji, @LtGovDelhi sir, and @p_sahibsingh to open their respective houses to the public. "@ArvindKejriwal ji will open his house, and the public will get to know how luxurious whose house is?"
The ball is now in the BJP's court after the AAP’s open challenge to the Lieutenant Governor and Parvesh Verma to open their own residences for public scrutiny alongside Kejriwal's new home.
