Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra convoy on Sunday encountered a group of BJP workers, who chanted "Jai Shri Ram" and raised "Modi, Modi" slogans in front of the Wayanad MP in Assam’s Nagaon. Rahul, however, didn't take any offence and greeted them with flying kisses. He also stepped down from his vehicle to meet them.

The visuals of the act are fervidly going viral across social media platforms. Congress leader himself shared the video saying their mohabbat ki dukaan (shop of love) is open for everyone. “Our 'Mohabbat ki dukaan' (shop of love) is open for everyone. 'Judega Bharat, Jeetega Hindustan'," he said in a post on X(formerly Twitter).

Rahul Gandhi, later while narrating the incident during a public address, said his party was neither scared of Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Congress party alleged that their leaders– Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh– were targeted by the BJP supporters when their foot march entered Assam. BJP, however, said Rahul Gandhi got angry over pro-modi slogans and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chants. “Rahul Gandhi lost his cool after Jai Shri Ram and Modi Modi slogans were raised in his presence. If this is how rattled he is, how will he face the people of this country in days ahead, after the anti-Hindu Congress rejected the invite to be part of the Pran Pratistha in Ayodhya?” BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya said on X.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala alleged Rahul Gandhi arrogantly charged at the people who were chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and raising pro-modi slogans. "Security personnel stopped him. 'Mohabbat ki dukaan' or 'Ahankaar ki Dukaan' (shop of arrogance) Shameful and atrocious behaviour by entitled dynast! He even made kissing actions to the crowd!!" he said on X.
