Rahul Gandhi Vote Chori Conference: Days after Rahul Gandhi said he will soon come out with a "hydrogen bomb" of revelations about "vote chori", the Congress MP held a 'Press Conference - Vote Chori Factory' on Thursday, reiterating that the Election Commission is involved in the vote theft. The Congress MP alleged "mass deletion" of voters across several states of India, specially targeting Congress strongholds. He further asserted that the OBCs and Dalits were systematically targeted and their names had been removed from the voter list.
Alleging "mass vote deletions" in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi said, "This deletion of votes has been done in a centralised manner, using software, and not through individuals," he said.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha trained his guns on the Election Commission and accused it of defending the "murderers" of democracy. "I am going to make a serious claim about Gyanesh Kumar. I am not saying this lightly. The CEC is protecting vote chors and the people who have destroyed Indian democracy," he said.
Here's are the key points from Rahul Gandhi's press conference at Congress' Indira Bhawan headquarters:
- The Congress leader cited an investigation held by Karnataka CID into attempts to delete voters' names from the electoral roll in Aland constituency in 2023. There was an attempt to delete as many as 6,018 votes in Karnataka's Aland and fraudulent applications had been filed in their place.
- Narrating how the discrepancy was caught, he said, "A booth-level officer noticed that her uncle's vote got deleted and found her neighbour had deleted the vote of her uncle. She asked her neighbour who said he had no idea. It was found that some other force hijacked the process and deleted the vote -- and as luck would have it got caught."
- The fraud applications impersonating the real voters were filed automatically using mobile numbers. All this was done from outside Karnataka.
- Gandhi said the Karnataka CID sent 18 letters to the Election Commission over a period of 18 months. He said the poll body has been unable to reveal "simple facts" such as destination IP from where these applications were filled and OTP trails. "They are not giving it because it will lead us to where this operation is being conducted," said Gandhi.
- He demanded that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar provide the details sought by the Karnataka CID within a week.
The Congress MP had previously alleged that over 1 lakh votes were stolen in Karnataka's Mahadevpura during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
