Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and said that the government led by the latter looted all the public money and gave them an empty pot in return. The Congress leader also referred to the PM Modi-led party as "Bharatiya Chombu Party" and posted a picture of him from the Karnataka rally, with a pot.

"Looted the public's money in abundance and in return was given an empty pot - this is Modi's Bharatiya Chombu Party!," Gandhi said.

Rahul Gandhi was addressing a rally in Karnataka's Bijapur on Friday. During the event, he said that PM Modi tries to destroy the constitution, and his MPs openly say if they won the election, they would change the Constitution.

Taking a swipe at PM Modi he said that these days the Prime Minister appears very nervous during his speeches and that there is a probability that he may shed tears on the stage. The former Congress President, who is fighting to retain the Wayanad seat in Kerala, also alleged that PM Modi has snatched money from the poor in the last ten years.

"PM Modi has only snatched money from the poor in the last 10 years. He gave as much wealth to 22 people of the country as 70 crore people of the country have. There are 1pc such people in India who control 40pc of the wealth. Therefore, the Congress Party will give you participation by eliminating unemployment and inflation. The amount of money that Narendra Modi has given to the billionaires, we will give that much money to the poor people of India," he said.

The Congress leader said that in Karnataka the Congress government had delivered on all its promises.

PM Modi Attacks INDIA Alliance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was addressing a rally in Bihar's Araria on Friday, attacked the INDIA bloc over the Supreme Court decision rejecting the plea for 100 per cent VVPAT verification of EVM votes and said every leader of the opposition grouping has "committed the sin" of creating doubts in minds of people about Electronic Voting Machine and "their dreams have been shattered".

"They did not let people exercise their right to vote for decades. Booth capturing was very common... They did not even let the people step out to vote... Now when the poor and honest voters have the strength of EVM, they are trying all they can to get rid of the EVM... Today, the Supreme Court has given a strong verdict saying that the old system of ballot paper voting will not come back," PM Modi said.
