In a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi around the Operation Sindoor and ceasefire understanding, Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he surrendered during the military conflict after United States President Donald Trump 'ordered' him to do so.

Gandhi is on Madhya Pradesh visit and on Tuesday, he was in Bhopal attending a party event under the campaign 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan'. During this, he said that Trump called PM Modi and said 'Narendra-Surrender' to which the prime minister complied.

He said, "Now, I understand RSS-BJP well. If slight pressure is put on them, they run away out of fear. When Trump called Modi ji-'Modi ji kya kar rahe ho, Narender-Surrender and with 'ji hazooor', Narender ji followed Trump."

He recalled India's bitter relation with the US during the 1971 war and said, "In the 1971 war, Seventh Fleet (came from the US), Indira Gandhi said I will do whatever I have to do. This is the difference. This is their character; all of them are like this. Since the Independence movement, they have this habit of writing letters of surrender."

BJP reacts

The BJP reacted to his statement by calling him an agent of Pakistan. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said that such statements are expected from Rahul Gandhi as his heart beats for Pakistan.

He added that Congress leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Salman Khurshid are talking about India giving an adequate response to Pakistan, and even Pakistan itself is giving evidence of that.

He said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan's terror masters. From Salman Khurshid to Shashi Tharoor, every Congress leader is talking about this and Pakistan itself is giving evidence of this... The people of the country see this uncivilised Rahul Gandhi as an agent of Pakistan..."

Meanwhile, Bhandari also slammed Rahul Gandhi for offering a floral tribute to Indira Gandhi without removing his shoes during his recent visit to MP.

Bhandari said, "Rahul Gandhi's words reflect his values as he makes such indecent remarks against the country's Prime Minister. But this is what can be expected from Rahul Gandhi, whose heart beats for Pakistan. Because when he offers floral tribute to the statue of his grandmother, Indira Gandhi, he does not remove his shoes."
