Train operations will remain suspended from 8 am to 2 pm on the Haridwar-Dehradun section on Monday, December 8, due to culvert repair work near the Bhimgoda tunnel. To avoid passenger inconvenience, the railway has cancelled the New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express, Ahmedabad Mail, Link Express and the Haridwar-Rishikesh passenger train on Monday. 

According to the sub-station superintendent, BK Malik, quoted by Jagran.com, Vande Bharat and Naini Express have already been cancelled for Monday owing to the repair works.

IndiGo Crisis: Ranchi Rail Division Adds Extra Coaches Amid IndiGo Cancellations

In a separate development, the Ranchi Rail Division has swiftly added extra coaches to several key trains, responding to a sudden surge in rail passenger traffic caused by the cancellation of numerous IndiGo flights. This proactive measure is significantly assisting passengers in reaching their destinations on time. 

The decision to add coaches was informed by a joint analysis of demand, availability, and waiting lists conducted by the commercial and operations departments, ensuring the maximum number of travellers benefit.

Extra coaches are being added to the following trains:

- An extra Third Economy (3E) air-conditioned coach was introduced to the Ranchi-New Delhi Garib Rath Express (Train 12877) on December 5.

- The Ranchi-Varanasi Express (Train 18611) also received an extra second-class sleeper coach on December 6.

- An additional second-class sleeper coach will be added to the 18640 Ranchi-Arrah Express on December 6.
