Railway News:  The festive season is around the corner, and if you are planning to travel by train, here is some good news for you. The Indian Railways has rolled out a new feature which allows you to check which seats are vacant in which coach of your train using your mobile phone. Authorities have simplified the process for passengers to get the information in just a few steps using IRCTC’s official website or mobile app, Jagran.com reported.

By using this feature, passengers can easily decide which coach to choose based on seat availability. It will save a lot of time as passengers will be able to check in advance whether seats are available or not.

How To Check Vacant Seats In Train Coach?

- To find out vacant seats on the train coaches, go to the IRCTC website or open the IRCTC Rail Connect App on your mobile phone.

- After scrolling a bit through the app, click on the “Charts/Vacancy” option.

- Enter your train number and travel date.

- Once you have successfully entered the details, the complete details will be displayed. Here, you can check how many seats are booked, how many are vacant and coach-wise seat details.

Is THIS Feature Available On All Trains?

Earlier, this feature was only available for Vande Bharat Express trains. But now, this option is available in almost all reserved trains, including Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, and other mail/express trains.

The Railway Chart is prepared eight hours ahead of departure, and a final chart is also prepared around 30 minutes before departure. The seat status is updated on both the IRCTC website and the Rail Connect App for passengers' convenience.
