Railway News: In a major decision, Railways on Saturday announced that the Namo Bharat Rapid Train will operate between Gaya and Ayodhya. The railways stated that the decision was taken to boost the regional connectivity and reduce the travel time between the two key cities. It further stated that the train will also significantly boost the tourism sector, as Gaya is a prominent city for Buddhists and the famous Ram temple is built in Ayodhya. The railway also stated that it will announce the operation of other trains between the key cities in the upcoming months to boost the regional connectivity.

The Namo Bharat Rapid train operating between Gaya and Ayodhya will be the second train of this category operating in Bihar, as a Namo Bharat train already operates between Jaynagar and Patna. The train passes through several stations, including Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Barauni, and Mokama, providing a major boost to the regional connectivity. President of the Grand Card Passenger Association DK Jain said that this is the fulfillment of old demands from people of Gaya and regional districts.

He further stated that Gaya, Varanasi, and Ayodhya are all mythological cities, and there was a need for rail connectivity between them. The Namo Bharat Rapid Train will reportedly operate six days a week and will depart from Gaya Junction at 5 am and will arrive in Ayodhya at 11 am. It will further start the return journey from Ayodhya at 5 pm and arrive in Gaya at 11 pm.

The train is likely to pass through several key cities, including Rafiganj, Sasaram, DD Upadhyay Junction, Kashi, Varanasi Junction, Jaunpur Junction, Shahganj, Akbarpur, and Gosaiganj, reported Jagran.com. The report further suggested that the estimated cost of the ticket will be Rs 500 for the unreserved AC coaches.
