State Bureau, New Delhi: In another step to strengthen the rail connectivity between Delhi and Bihar, the railway has decided to operate the Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal Weekly Superfast Express (12527/12528). The authority, while providing details, stated that train number 12527 will begin its regular service from Chhapra on June 28, adding that the first train from Anand Vihar will depart from June 29. The railways have asked the passengers to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconveniences.
Train To Benefit Passengers Of Bihar, UP
The weekly superfast train will operate between Anand Vihar and Chhapra to manage the extra crowd expected during the summer vacation and festive season. The operation of the extra train will benefit the residents of Chhapra and other nearby districts, including Gopalganj and Siwan. Along with Bihar, the train will also provide an additional option to the passengers of multiple districts of Uttar Pradesh.
As per the railway advisory, the express train will depart from Chhapra every Sunday at 8:50 pm and will reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 2 pm on Monday. The authority further stated that the train will depart Anand Vihar Terminal every Monday at 4:25 pm and arrive in Chhapra at 9:40 am the next day on its return journey.
List Of Stoppages
The train will stop at several stations, including Ballia, Mau, Azamgarh, Shahganj, Jaunpur, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Kanpur Central, Aligarh, and Ghaziabad. As per the advisory, this superfast train will be equipped with general, sleeper, and AC coaches, providing multiple options to the passengers.
Apart from this, the railways are expected to implement a set of stricter rules that will significantly increase penalties for passengers travelling without valid tickets from July 1. Under the "Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026", the government has proposed doubling the minimum fine for ticketless travel from Rs 250 to Rs 500.
