Heat Wave Alert In THESE Areas

IMD has issued a widespread heat wave warning for many parts of northwest, central and western India and forecast severe heat conditions in the coming days.

According to the latest forecast, heat waves are likely in many parts of Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh, with severe heat waves possible in isolated areas between May 12 and 18. Nights may remain hot in parts of eastern Rajasthan until May 15.

The weather department has further warned that severe heat may continue in Vidarbha till May 16, in Gujarat and Central Maharashtra till May 14, in Marathwada till May 15 and in Konkan and Goa till May 12.

According to the IMD, maximum temperatures are expected to gradually increase by 2 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius over central India between May 12 and 18, while they are likely to increase by 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius over eastern India by May 16.

Meteorologists have attributed this prolonged heatwave to clear skies, dry weather, and an anticyclonic circulation pattern over western India. The urban heat island effect in major cities has exacerbated nighttime discomfort.
