A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Rajasthan’s Dholpur district for allegedly abducting and raping his 13-year-old cousin, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred while the girl was visiting her aunt’s home, where the accused reportedly lured her away.
The survivor’s mother filed a complaint on June 18, alleging that her daughter had been kidnapped and raped by a relative, according to Ramkishan Yadav, the in-charge of Rajakhera police station.

“She was taken to the hospital for a medical examination and then presented before a magistrate to record her statement,” said Yadav.
The accused, Harikesh Nishad, had been on the run since the complaint was lodged. He was arrested under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. “He will be presented before the court,” the officer added.
