Rajasthan Monsoon Update: The Met Department reported widespread and severe rainfall in Rajasthan as the southwest monsoon became active over the state on Saturday. Niwai in Tonk district had the most rainfall in the last 24 hours, totaling 165 mm.

The majority of eastern Rajasthan experienced rainfall, with some places seeing heavy to extremely heavy rains. Western Rajasthan also received sporadic rainfall, with intensity ranging from mild to heavy.

Significant rainfall totals included 153 mm in Chaksu (Jaipur), 139 mm in Chauth ka Barwara (Sawai Madhopur), 119 mm in Sikrai (Dausa), 116 mm in Bundi, and 115 mm in Kota.

The forecast anticipated that rainfall will persist in several areas of the state on June 21. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert with rain, thunder and lightning in 28 districts of the state today.

These districts include Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Baran, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dausa, Dholpur, Dungarpur, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Sirohi, Tonk, Udaipur, Churu, Nagaur, Pali, Hanumangarh and Jodhpur.

Along with this, there is a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour and hailstorm at some places.

On June 22 and 23, severe to very heavy rain is expected in the Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Kota divisions.
