Rajasthan Weather: Rajasthan has been experiencing a remarkable shift in weather patterns in recent days. Contrary to the typical scorching heat, the region has been experiencing a series of western disturbances, leading to unexpected rainfall and a significant drop in temperatures.

Rajasthan Weather: IMD Forecast Pre-Monsoon Showers In THESE Districts

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the pre-monsoon season has officially started in Rajasthan as of Monday, June 10. The forecasts indicate that several districts in the Udaipur and Kota divisions, including Dungarpur, Banswara, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Udaipur and Pratapgarh, are likely to witness continuous rainfall and thunderstorms until June 13.

Jaipur Issues Alert For Rain Around 11 Districts

Jaipur, the capital city, has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in around 11 districts over the next four days. Radheshyam Sharma, the director of the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, stated that the effect of the Namami wind, originating from the monsoon's entry into Maharashtra, will start increasing in the southern parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh from Monday. This wind-driven rainfall is referred to as the pre-monsoon rain.

Orange And Yellow Alert Issued For THESE Districts

The IMD has issued various alerts for the region. An orange alert has been issued for Dausa, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jaipur, and Tonk districts, warning of the possibility of strong winds, thunderstorms, and even hailstorms. Simultaneously, a yellow alert has been issued for Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Udaipur, indicating the likelihood of light rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Rajasthan Weather Brings Challenges

The unexpected weather patterns have brought both relief and challenges for the residents of Rajasthan. While the cooler temperatures and rainfall have provided much-needed respite from the scorching heat, some areas have faced damage due to the accompanying strong winds and hailstorms.

The weather centre has assured that the light rain activities with thundershowers are expected to continue in some parts of southern Rajasthan in the coming days. However, no significant change in overall temperatures is anticipated across most parts of the state.
