Rajasthan Monsoon Update: Several places in Rajasthan experienced very heavy to heavy rainfall, particularly the eastern and western regions in the state. According to the weather summary released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Mount Abu Tehsil recorded the highest rainfall at 190 mm.
Rajasthan Weather Today: Orange Alert in 7 districts
As the monsoon advances in the state, showers are likely to persist for the coming days, with as many as seven districts placed under an orange alert in the state on Sunday, as per the latest district wise warning by IMD. District Jalore has been placed under orange alert for thunderstorms, lightning, squalls and strong surface winds. On the other hand, six other districts, namely Udaipur, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Bundi and Kota, have been put on orange alert for heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, squalls and strong surface winds.
Several districts, including Bikaner, Nagaur, Jaipur, and Tonk, among others, have been placed under yellow alert for thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and rainfall at isolated locations.
Rajasthan Weather Forecast: Tonk, Bundi On Red Alert
According to the district-wise weather warning issued by the IMD, Tonk and Bundi districts have been placed under red alert for extremely heavy rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong surface winds. A few other districts like Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Jaipur are on orange alert as the weather department forecasts heavy rainfall in these districts on Monday.
Multiple districts have also been placed on a yellow alert for moderate to light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
