Weather Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms in more than 25 states of the country on September 13. A low-pressure area and cyclonic circulation extending from northern Rajasthan to the Bay of Bengal have triggered fresh rains. This change has brought heavy showers accompanied by strong winds to the plains, while the risk of landslides has increased in hilly areas.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain rough across much of the country due to the active monsoon. Rain and thunderstorms are expected across North India, Northeast India, and South India.
Rain alerts have been issued in more than 25 states including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

Light To Moderate Rain In UP
Intermittent light to moderate rain is forecast for both eastern and western Uttar Pradesh, with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms possible between September 13 and 14.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is expected in the eastern parts of the state from September 15 to 17. Rain alerts have been issued for 19 districts of the state.
Rivers Flowing Above Danger Mark In Bihar
Rain is expected to continue in Bihar on September 13. Thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of up to 30-40 kmph and lightning are expected in some areas. 8 rivers in Bihar are flowing above the danger mark.
Delhi-NCR May Find Some Relief From Heat
Delhi and its surrounding areas will have generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain likely from morning to afternoon.
During this period, winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30 to 35 km per hour, which will keep maximum temperatures two to three degrees Celsius below normal. Heavy rainfall is also possible at isolated places on September 13 and 14.
Heavy Rain Alert In Rajasthan
The eastern parts of the state will be more affected by the rain. An alert has been issued for moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Western areas will be less affected by the rain.
Rain Alert In Madhya Pradesh
Heavy rain is expected in western and eastern Madhya Pradesh, as well as Vidarbha. Heavy rain is forecast in western Madhya Pradesh on September 13. In eastern Madhya Pradesh, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected to continue.
A warning of heavy rain has been issued in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Also, a warning has been issued of heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the mountainous areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
