Rajkot Game Zone Fire: The Gujarat Police have arrested Dhaval Thakkar, the prime accused in the Rajkot TRP game zone fire that resulted in 28 deaths on May 25. Thakkar, who had fled after the incident, was apprehended in Abu Road, Rajasthan by Banaskantha Local Crime Branch police and Rajkot Police. This marks the fourth arrest in the case. Earlier, three men arrested in connection with the game zone fire were sent to a 14-day police remand by a court in the Rajkot district on Monday. After the incident, a case was registered against six individuals. Two suspects remain at large, and police efforts to locate them have intensified.

The court of additional judicial magistrate BP Thakar has remanded three accused, Yuvraj Hari Singh Solanki, Nitin Jain, and Rahul Rathod, in police custody for two weeks, according to special public prosecutor Tushar Gokani.

Gujarat Govt Action On Officers

The Gujarat government announced the suspension of seven officials for gross negligence in permitting the game zone to operate without the necessary approvals. This action follows a report by the Special Investigation Team. State Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi stated that additional people have been detained and 17 police teams have been formed to arrest others involved.

Among the suspended officials are Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) town planning department assistant engineer Jaideep Chaudhary, assistant town planner for RMC Gautam Joshi, Rajkot Roads and Buildings department's deputy executive engineer HR Suma, Assistant Engineer Road and Building Department of RMC Parsbhai M Kothiya, Station Officer of Fire and Emergency Services of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, Rohit Vigora.

Two police inspectors were also suspended on Monday in connection with the Rajkot game zone fire case. DGP Vikas Sahay ordered the suspension of police inspectors V.R. Patel and N.I. Rathod.PI Patel, who was in charge of Rajkot Taluka Police Station in August 2023, had given the green light to TRP Game Zone.

Rajkot Game Zone Fire: DNA Testing Of Charred Bodies

The identities of nine bodies recovered from the TRP Game Zone fire in Rajkot have been confirmed through DNA analysis, according to Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi. Due to severe charring, forensic science labs are being used to identify the victims through DNA profiling.

"I can understand the anger of the families who have lost their loved ones. FSL is also working round the clock. Entire FSL staff have cancelled their holidays and other travel plans so that all the samples are analysed as early as possible. I have reviewed the progress and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is also taking updates every hour," Sanghavi told reporters.
