A 12-year-old boy was questioned by Fatheganj police after he allegedly made a call to the police control room claiming that Ram Mandir in Ayodhya would be hit by a bomb, an officer said on Wednesday.

According to police, they received a phone call on Tuesday on the emergency hotline number 112, with the caller saying that Ram Mandir would be bombed on Thursday, September 21.

Based on the call, the location of the caller was traced near a village under Fatehganj (East) Police Station, said the official.

On investigation, it was found that it was a 12-year-old minor who had made the call from his father's phone. The boy and his father were brought to the police station for questioning, where the boy claimed that he had seen a video on a social media channel that the Ram Temple would be blown up on September 21. He further told the police that he called 112 only to inform authorities, not to threaten anyone.

"The boy said that he had seen a video on a social media channel that the Ram temple would be blown up with a bomb on September 21. He said he called 112 only to inform them about it and not to threaten the police," said Superintendent of Police (rural) Mukesh Chandra Mishra.

Police released both the boy and his father after questioning them.

He told reporters that the idol will be installed in the form of a standing child on a lotus on a platform built in the sanctum Sanctorum of the temple and will receive the first blessing of Lord Surya.
