Ration Card Download: In a bid to modernise services, the government has decided to digitalise ration cards, which will now be converted into smart cards. This means that consumers will no longer need to visit the department in person to obtain their ration card. Instead, they can simply download it online and receive their smart ration card.

Citizens can now access their digital ration cards directly on their smartphones via the newly updated 'Mera Ration 2.0' app.

Misplacing the physical card or forgetting it at home while visiting the ration shop can often cause unnecessary inconvenience. To address this issue, the government has introduced a digital solution that ensures access to the ration card at any time, from anywhere.

Under this scheme, consumers can now download their ration card online via the MyRation Card app and print it out. The smart ration card is similar to other government-issued cards, such as driving licences, Aadhaar cards, and Ayushman cards. It contains the consumer's details and a QR code on one side, and the family members' details on the other.

'Mera Ration 2.0' App: How to Download Your Ration Card Online?

1. Download the App: Search for and install ‘Mera Ration 2.0’ from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

2. Login: Open the app and enter your Aadhaar number.

3. OTP Verification: Tap on ‘Login with OTP’, then enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.

4. View Your Card: Once logged in, your digital ration card will appear on your screen.

5. Use at Shops: Simply show this digital card at your nearest ration shop to collect your food grains.
