India's strides in accurate prediction of cyclones and the resultant saving of lives, the benefits to farmers due to timely weather forecasts figure prominently in the tableau of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), which celebrated 150th anniversary of its foundation this year.

The tableau of the Union Territory of Chandigarh that rolled down Kartavya Path on Sunday showcased the city as a blend of old heritage and modern architecture.

For the first time, the cultural performance will cover the entire Kartavya Path – from Vijay Chowk to C hexagon – to ensure all guests get the same viewing experience.,

Among the contingents marching down the Kartavya Path on 76th Republic Day celebrations a 148-member all-women marching contingent of Central Reserve Police Force, led by Assistant Commandant Aishwarya Joy M showcased the spirit of 'Nari Shakti'.

As India marked its 76th Republic Day, the Indian Army took center stage, showcasing its cutting-edge advancements in defense technology during the parade at Kartavya Path on Sunday. Among the prominent systems presented were the Integrated Battlefield Surveillance System, the Short Span Bridging System, and the Akash Weapon System, each a testament to the Army’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance.

Republic Day 2025 Live: The Delhi Police marching contingent was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishi Kumar Singh. The Delhi Police all-women band also participated for the second time, led by Band Master Ruyangunuo Kense.

On the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, the Border Security Force (BSF) on Sunday held the customary national flag hoisting ceremony at the Attari-Wagah Border in Amritsar, Punjab. BSF Commandant Harsh Nandan Joshi extended his Republic Day greetings to all citizens present at the border.

About 400 students from 21 states selected under the PM-YASASVI scheme have been invited as special guests to witness the Republic Day parade here, officials said on Saturday.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. The Chief Minister also pledged to work towards the goals of 'Vikshit Bharat 2047' and 'Swarnandhra Vision 2047' with the spirit of the Constitution.

The Kartavya Path is closed for all vehicular traffic from 5 pm on Saturday until the end of the parade. The same will be applicable for Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Subhash Marg from 10:30 am onwards.

The United States has extended its warm wishes to India on Republic Day, recognising the occasion as a celebration of the enduring foundation of the world’s largest democracy. In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasised that Indo-US relations are continually reaching new heights and described the partnership as "the defining relationship of the 21st century."
