Republic Day 2026: Ahead of the Republic Day celebrations, the Gurugram Traffic Police have announced extensive security measures to maintain public order and ensure safety across the National Capital Region. Key initiatives include the deployment of over 3,000 police personnel at railway stations, bus stands, metro stations, and other locations and the implementation of strict restrictions regarding the entry of heavy vehicles into the national capital.
These measures come ahead of the final rehearsal scheduled for January 23 and will remain in effect till January 26 to maintain order and ensure smooth movement of vehicular traffic.

Republic Day 2026: Traffic Advisory Issued, Over 3,000 Police Personnel Deployed
- According to the traffic advisory, all good vehicle transporters, including medium and heavy goods vehicles, will be restricted from entering Gurugram and Delhi for a specific period of time.
- These vehicles will be restricted from entry in Delhi and Gurugram starting January 22 at 5:00 PM till 1:30 PM on January 23, and again from January 25 at 5:00 PM till 1:30 PM on January 26.
- To minimise congestion, heavy vehicles coming from Jaipur via NH48 will be diverted at Pachgaon onto the KMP Expressway.
- Heavy vehicles from the local Gurugram area will be rerouted at key points, including Hero Honda Chowk, Shankar Chowk, and the Mehrauli border.
- Additionally, vehicles heading towards other districts or states should use the KMP Expressway from Panchgoan Chowk to reach their destination, the advisory read.
- Emergency services such as ambulances, fire brigade, as well as vehicles transporting airport passengers, will be exempted and allowed to move freely.
