Six months after the death of a 30-year-old trainee doctor, the mother of the victim has appealed to the common people to hit the streets in potest on February 9, the birthday of her daughter. Notably, the trainee doctor was allegedly raped and murdered on August 9.

In a video message, she made an appeal to the common people of the state. While the faces of both the victim's parents were blurred, the speech was delivered entirely by the weeping mother.

"My daughter died on August 9. Her birthday is on February 9, six months after the horrific incident. We are yet to get justice in the matter. We will be on the streets on February 9. The people have been beside us for the last six months. So I appeal to the people again to hit the streets on February 9," the victim's mother said in the video message.

In an emotional video message, the mother made an appeal to the people of the state, urging them to plant a flower sapling on February 9 in memory of her daughter. "My daughter was very fond of flower saplings. So I request each of you to plant a sapling either at your home or at your workplace," she said during the message.

The mother also expressed her determination to see justice done for her daughter, making it clear that she and her husband would not stop until they achieve it. "We will not be quitting. We will go to the extreme to get justice. Our only goal is to get justice for our daughter," she added.

Recently, the victim's parents have faced criticism from several Trinamool Congress leaders following their statements opposing the death penalty for Sanjay Roy, the sole perpetrator of the crime. Despite both the West Bengal government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) proposing the death penalty, the victim's parents have expressed different views on the matter.

The situation escalated when controversial Trinamool Congress leader and legislator Madan Mitra made a highly criticized remark, indirectly suggesting that the parents' true desire might be hefty compensation rather than justice for their daughter. This comment has sparked outrage, adding to the ongoing tension surrounding the case.
