RG Kar Rape-Murder Case: In the latest development in the ongoing investigation in connection with the RG Kar rape-murder case, a report submitted by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has raised doubts over the "scene of the crime". While the investigation by the CBI considered the seminar of the hospital as the "scene of crime", the latest report by the CFSL has clearly stated that there is no evident sign of a scuffle within the seminar room, sources aware of the development said.

According to the sources cited by IANS, the CFSL report strengthens the apprehension raised by the section of the medical fraternity in the state since the beginning that the actual "scene of the crime" was someplace else and after the ghastly rape and murder the body was shifted to the seminar hall to mislead future investigation.

The development comes on the same day when Calcutta High Court will hear a plea filed by the parents of the deceased doctor seeking a fresh probe into the case.
According to the sources cited by IANS, earlier when the Kolkata police investigated the case, they found a total of 40 items from the seminar hall where the body of the victim was spotted on August 9. The CBI later took charge of the case on directions of the Calcutta High Court, and many of the recovered items were forwarded to CFSL for examination purposes.
Earlier on August 14, a team of CFSL experts also examined the seminar hall, which is the crime scene, physically, and submitted a report to CBI based on forensic reports of the items seized.
