Robin Uthappa Arrest Warrant: An arrest warrant was issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa for alleged fraud in connection with the provident fund contributions of employees at a company run by him. Uthappa has been asked to pay the dues amount of nearly Rs 24 lakh till December 27, or face arrest.
Robin Uthappa is the director of Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd. Regional PF Commissioner Sadakshari Gopal Reddy stated that the company directed by Uthappa failed to remit the damages of about Rs 23,36,602, adding that the amount will be recovered from Ex-Indian cricketer only. The right-handed batsman is accused of deducting the provident funds from the salary of the employees, but not depositing the funds into the accounts of those workers.
The regional PF office stated that they were unable to settle the Provident Fund Accounts of the employees due to non-remittances of dues from the firm directed by Uthappa. The office also asked the police to arrest the cricketer and return the warrant on or before December 27.
PF regional commissioner Shadakshari Gopal Reddy asked the jurisdictional Pulakeshinagar police to take necessary action into the matter. “The warrant which was executed on December 4 has been returned after Mr. Uthappa was found not to be at the Pulakeshinagar residence,” officials were quoted as saying by The Hindu.

The former cricketer reportedly live in Dubai with his family members. Robin Uthappa has represented India in One Day Internationals (ODI) and T-20 and was known for his aggressive batting, especially against pace bowlers. He has represented India in 59 international matches and used to play as an opener. He has scored a total of 1,183 runs in 54 ODI matches.
Uthappa is also known for his amazing batting in Indian Premier League. He has played for several teams, including Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, and Mumbai Indians. He was part of KKR's winning squad in 2014, the season in which he scored most runs.
