Rohini Acharya, the daughter of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, has distanced herself from her family and announced her exit from politics. She also accused family members of accusing her of purchasing an election ticket in exchange for a "dirty kidney."
On Saturday afternoon, Rohini Acharya, one of Lalu Prasad Yadav's nine children, declared she was stepping away from politics and accepted full responsibility for the defeat in the Bihar elections. "I am taking full responsibility for the defeat," she stated after leaving her residence in Patna.
In a social media post, Acharya described as a "sin" her decision to donate a kidney to her father instead of focusing on her husband and children. "For me, it became a huge sin that I didn’t look after my family, my three children, didn’t take permission from my husband or my in-laws when donating the kidney... I did what I did to save my god, my father, and today it’s been called dirty... May none of you ever make a mistake like mine, may no family ever have a daughter like Rohini," she wrote on X.
Her choice to sever ties, leave the country, and openly share her experiences has caused fresh turmoil within the RJD. Rohini alleged that a slipper was thrown at her during a heated argument with her younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, an incident she claimed deeply hurt her.
As her allegations continue to unfold, attention has shifted to her family in Singapore, where she resides with her husband, Samaresh Singh, and their three children, daughter Ananya and sons Aditya and Arihant. Acharya left for Singapore the previous night.
Who is Rohini Acharya's Husband, Samaresh Singh ?
Rohini married Samaresh Singh in 2002. Samaresh is the son of Rao Ranvijay Singh, a former commissioner-level Income Tax officer. The couple initially moved to the United States before relocating to Singapore, where they now live with their children.
Samaresh completed his BA in Economics from Delhi University, followed by a Master's in Economics, Finance, and International Business from the Delhi School of Economics. He also holds an MBA in Finance from INSEAD Business School.
Currently, Samaresh serves as the Managing Director in Investment Banking, Mergers, and Acquisitions at Evercore in Singapore. Prior to this, he held senior roles at Standard Chartered Bank.
