Describing Hindu civilisation as central to sustaining the world, the Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Mohan Bhagwat questioned the world’s existence without Hindus, saying ‘Without Hindus, the world will cease to exist.’

In his address to a gathering in Manipur, Bhagwat stated that Hindu society is eternal. He claimed that India has outlasted ancient empires such as Greece, Egypt, and Rome. He emphasised that while these civilisations have faded into history, India and its cultural foundations endure.

“Every nation of the world has seen all kinds of situations. Yunaan (Greece), Misr (Egypt) and Roma, all civilisations perished from the face of the earth. There is something in our civilisation that we are still here," the RSS chief said.

In his first visit to Manipur, since ethnic violence erupted in the state, leaving it devastated situation, Bhagwat called Hindu society a global custodian of Dharma.

“Bharat is the name of an immortal civilisation… We have created a network in our society because of which the Hindu community will always be there. If Hindu Dharma perishes, so will the world’s civilisations. The world will cease to exist if Hindus cease to exist," he said.

No One Was Non Hindu

In a reportedly controversial statement, Bhagwat earlier said that no one in India was non-Hindu and Muslims and Christrian were descendants of the same ancestors.

The Chief of RSS, an ideological parent of BJP, said, “While building the nation, the first requirement is strength. Strength means economic ability. The word ‘superiority’ sometimes carries the wrong meaning. But our economy must be completely self-reliant. We should not be dependent on anyone.”
