Russia-Ukraine War: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, India has always been ready to contribute its part to bring peace to Ukraine and will remain so in the future. India strongly backed the efforts to end the war in Ukraine, saying India will stand shoulder-to-shoulder in all peace efforts to find an amicable solution to the conflict, he asserted.
"We welcome all efforts being made for a peaceful and lasting resolution of Ukraine conflict. India has advocated for peace on Ukraine issue from very beginning," PM Modi said after talks with President Putin.
India Not Neutral, It Is On The Side Of Peace: PM Modi
Earlier in the day, the Ukraine issue figured prominently at the annual summit talks between PM Modi and President Putin. In his televised opening remarks at the summit, PM Modi said India is not neutral as it is on the side of peace to end the Ukraine conflict.

"We have been holding discussions following the start of the Ukraine conflict. As a close friend, you have been regularly apprising us on the situation. I think trust is a major strength," he elaborated.
We All Should Find The Path Of Peace: PM Modi
"We all should find the path of peace. I am aware of the latest efforts and I am confident that the world will turn to peace," he said. On his part, the Russian president said Moscow is working towards a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Putin Thanks PM Modi For Efforts To Resolve Ukraine Conflict
On the other side, the Russian President thanked PM Modi for his efforts in resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, stating that he has had "very informative and useful conversation" with the Indian leader.
"Thank you very much for the invitation and for yesterday's very good evening, with our friendly yet at the same time informative and very useful conversation. We had the opportunity, and I was given the opportunity, to talk in detail about what is happening specifically in the Ukrainian sphere and what we are doing together with several other partners, including the United States, to address the issue of a possible peaceful resolution to this crisis," said Putin in his opening remarks ahead of the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit at the Hyderabad House.
"Thank you for your attention. And, thank you for your efforts to resolve this situation," he added with PM Modi sitting next to him.
