Sabarimala Darshan Online Booking: The Lord Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala opened on Sunday evening, November 16, ahead of the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season. The two-month-long pilgrimage season, which is expected to attract devotees from across the world, began on Monday, November 17, which is the first day of the Malayalam month of Vrichikam.
Hundreds of devotees dressed in customary black attire and carrying the 'irumudikkettu' (sacred bundle) on their heads, thronged the temple on Monday to offer prayers to Lord Ayyappa. To manage the heavy rush, authorities have made it possible for devotees to book darshan slots online through the Virtual Queue system. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide:
- Online Registration: Visit sabarimalaonline.org and register using your name, mobile number, email and ID proof.
- Virtual Queue System: This system allows you to book one of the daily slots (approximately 70,000) available online. The booking system for this season opened in early November.
- Final Step: Select a date and slot, complete the payment and download the ticket. The ticket includes key details, such as timing, entry point, rules of conduct, dress code, prohibited items, and no mobile phones inside the sanctum.
- Sopt Booking: If online slots are full, spot-booking slots are available at Pamba, Nilakkal, Erumeli, and Chathram on a first-come and first-served basis. Arrive early with your ID proof and follow the dress code to secure the ticket.
