Amid Mumbai Police’s ongoing manhunt to apprehend the individual responsible for attacking Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, a new image of the suspect has emerged. The photo shows him purchasing a pair of headphones from a store in Dadar at around 9 am, approximately six hours after the incident.

This is the fourth image of the accused to surface since the attack on Khan at his residence in Bandra. Earlier, the miscreant was spotted at Bandra railway station wearing a blue shirt. He was seen wearing the same shirt at the mobile store in Dadar.

Officers from the Crime Branch visited the Kabutarkhana area in Dadar and collected CCTV footage from a mobile shop named “Iqra", as per IANS.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, reacting on the case, said the police had launched a comprehensive investigation and were close to arresting the accused. He also responded to the opposition’s attack on the state government over law and order. Fadnavis said Mumbai was one of the safest cities in the country and few incidents should be used as precedent to portray it in bad light.

“Among all the megacities in the country, Mumbai is the safest. It is true that some incidents take place sometimes and they should be treated with seriousness but to say, based on one incident, that Mumbai is unsafe would not be correct. This tarnishes Mumbai’s image. But the government is working to make Mumbai even safer," he said while speaking to the media.

Besides, Mumbai crime branch criticised Bandra Police for their lethargic approach in dealing with the case, asserting that the latter did not promptly involve other units, such as the Crime Branch and the Government Railway Police (GRP), to block potential escape routes of the attacker.
