The Bandra police arrested the attacker of actor Saif Ali Khan on Sunday. Mumbai police reported that the arrested accused, Vijay Das, is a waiter at a restaurant. Vijay Das has confessed to committing the crime.

According to a statement from Mumbai police, the accused was arrested from Thane in connection with the attack on Saif Ali Khan. Reports suggest that the attacker lived in Worli and worked at a pub near the Coast Guard base. He was allegedly fired from his job after being accused of theft.

Mumbai police arrested Saif Ali Khan's attacker near a restaurant in Kasar Vadavali, Thane. Senior officials, including the DCP, Joint CP and CP, confirmed the arrest, as per ANI. Over 100 officers were involved in the operation. The accused was brought to Mumbai for further investigation, where the identification and verification process will happen. He has been kept in detention at Khar Police Station.

The Police also confirmed that the accused was using multiple names, including Vijay Das, Bijoy Das and Mohammed Iliyas while being on the run, the news agency reported. 

Saif Ali Khan was attacked on the night of January 16 and was taken to Lilavati Hospital with six knife wounds. Doctors performed surgery and his condition was now stable. He was shifted from the ICU to a general ward.

The attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan occurred at around 2 am on Thursday night. Initial police investigations revealed that the accused had entered the house with the intention of theft. Saif's maid told the police that the attacker had demanded 1 crore rupees.

Several CCTV footage of the miscreant went viral across social media platforms after he fled the scene. The last sighting of Saif's attacker was in Dadar, where he was seen purchasing headphones at a shop.
