Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: The Meghalaya Police have confirmed that the man, Sanjay Verma, is none other than Raj Kushwaha, solving the mystery behind 234 calls made by Sonam Raghuvanshi in connection to the Meghalaya murder case. Raja Raghuvanshi, who went for his honeymoon to the northeast, was killed by his wife Sonam, her lover and aides in the parking lot of Weisawdong Falls. His body was dumped in a nearby gorge in the Sohra area in the East Khasi Hills district on May 23.

Sonam and Sanjay exchanged 23 calls within a span of 39 days. The call record accessed by the police revealed extensive conversation between the two. Sanjay's mobile number was later found to be switched off.

Sonam Raghuvanshi had saved Raj's number as "Sanjay Verma" probably to avoid getting caught or raise suspicion, according to police, as per an NDTV report.

Raja was killed by three hitmen, namely, Vishal, Anand and Akash, hired by Sonam and her lover, Raj Khushwaha. All the accused, including Sonam and Raj, have been arrested. The hitmen, Vishal, Anand and Akash bought a SIM before killing Raja and deactivated it after the crime.

The Meghalaya Special Investigative Team (SIT) on Wednesday reached the residence of Sonam in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore to collect imported clues in connection with the killing of Sonam’s husband Raja Raghuvanshi. The flat, which is located in Dewas Naka area of the city, is likely where Sonam hid after Raja’s death.

"A Meghalaya police team visited the flat in Dewas Naka area....We have received information that after Raghuvanshi's murder, his wife Sonam was hiding in this flat for a few days. She later went to Uttar Pradesh where she was arrested," a police official told news agency PTI.
