In an alarming incident during Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi's visit to Jharsuguda, a drone deployed by the district administration accidentally crashed close to him. The mishap occurred on January 2 but gained public attention after a video clip of the event surfaced on social media on Sunday, sparking concerns over security lapses.

According to Jharsuguda police, the drone was assigned to capture photographs and record videos of the Chief Minister and other dignitaries during the event. However, due to technical glitches, the drone malfunctioned and fell to the ground in close proximity to the Chief Minister.

“As per preliminary investigation, the crash resulted from technical issues with the drone,” stated a police officer from Jharsuguda.

During Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi's visit to the Jhadaeshwar temple in Jharsuguda's Purunabasti area, a drone malfunctioned and fell near him. His personal security officer and police officials promptly acted, kicking the drone away to ensure his safety.

The state government has yet to issue an official statement addressing the incident, but sources indicate that an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash. Authorities are also reviewing the drone’s maintenance records and operational protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Unidentified Drone Spotted Near Jagannath Temple 

At 4 AM, an unidentified drone was spotted near the Jagannath Temple, and police teams are investigating to identify those responsible.

"Today at 4 AM, an unidentified drone was spotted flying near the Jagannath Temple. Our two teams are actively investigating the matter to identify the individuals/group responsible," police officials stated.

Security experts suggest that while drones provide innovative solutions for surveillance and documentation, their deployment near VIPs should be carefully managed, with contingency plans in place to address technical failures.
