Shahberi Road, which was opened to traffic last Friday, has been made operational without the completion of the project. The drainage system along the sides of the road remains unfinished, leading to waterlogging during rainfall. Besides, several stretches of the road are still incomplete.
Despite these issues, the Greater Noida Authority has claimed that the road widening and drainage work have been completed. Traffic movement remains sluggish due to encroachments and pedestrians continue to face the same challenges as before, even as authorities warned local shopkeepers.

After remaining shut for over 2 months, Shahberi Road was opened after being widened by 1.5 meters on both sides in view of the traffic jam problem. However, the road is full of potholes near Amrapali Golf Homes and the Kings Wood Society. There are potholes on the entire road in Shahberi Furniture Market.
Along with this, heaps of stones are also lying on the roadside. This also poses a risk of an accident.
The Shahberi road was closed for widening work on March 25.
"Thousands of vehicles pass through the Shahberi market area daily. Due to the road's narrow width, traffic congestion became routine. The widening was essential to address this," said Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar, as quoted by TOI.
The project was initially expected to be completed in just 20 days. However, due to unforeseen delays, the work stretched over two months.
Earlier, the Shahberi Road, starting from the Eteda Roundabout in Greater Noida, was only about 3 metres wide. With a single lane, it frequently experienced severe traffic jams.
