Shahdol News: Revenue Official Crushed To Death By Sand Mafia While Stopping Illegal Mining

A Patwari, who had gone to stop illegal sand mining in the Son River was crushed to death by a truck in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district on Saturday night. The police have detained the accused and registered an FIR.

The deceased was identified as Prasanna Singh Baghel, a Patwari (revenue officer) posted at Khadda in Beohari Tehsil. He was part of a joint team of four Patwaris who had gone for patrolling after receiving several complaints of sand mining under the Deolond police station area. 

"After several complaints, a joint team was formed and sent for patrolling when this incident took place. The accused has been detained and an FIR has also been registered against the accused," SP Kumar Prateek said as quoted by news agency ANI.
