A video from an Instagram account named Himaanshika is going viral, just three days after the death of tennis star Radhika Yadav. The clip shows a young woman, Himaanshika, who claims to be Radhika’s best friend.
She has posted two videos on Instagram, one where she speaks emotionally about her friendship with Radhika, and another that is a montage of photos and short clips featuring the late athlete.

“My best friend Radhika was murdered by her own father. He shot her five times. Four bullets hit her. He’d made her life miserable for years with his controlling, constant criticism. In the end, he listened to so-called friends who were jealous of her success," she wrote in the caption.
“She worked so hard in her tennis career and even built her own academy. She was doing so well for herself. But they couldn’t stand to see her independent. They shamed her for wearing shorts, for talking to boys, for living life on her own terms. She was rushed to the hospital, but she didn’t make it," the caption added.
The clip opens with Himaanshia saying,"You must have heard a lot about Radhika Singh but let me tell you Radhika Yadav’s truth. My name is Himaanshika Singh, Radhika Yadav was my best friend, we were very close for the last 8-10 years and I just lost her."

Himaanshika also stated that she made the video to show people who Radhika truly was. She went on to address a viral music video featuring Radhika, mentioning that it was Radhika’s father who personally dropped her off on the day of the shoot. However, she added that while he supported her, he wasn’t entirely comfortable with her involvement in such projects, as the family was concerned about how people might talk about his daughter.
“Radhika Yadav was an international tennis player. She was a kind soul, very sweet and innocent. She loved getting her pictures clicked and making videos," she added.
“Her family was always under societal pressure — they held very orthodox beliefs,” she said. “Radhika and I began playing together in 2013. We traveled for tournaments and played as teammates many times. But she rarely spoke to anyone outside her family — she was always with her parents.”
According to Himanshika, Radhika had been struggling for a long time. “She often felt trapped at home, constantly having to justify herself, why she was doing something, what she was doing, and who she was talking to.”

She recalled that even during video calls, Radhika had to turn her phone screen toward the camera to prove who she was speaking with. “Her tennis academy was just 50 meters from her house, yet she was expected to arrive and return at precisely set times,” she added.
Describing her as a committed coach, Himanshika said, “She was truly dedicated to her students. They all liked and respected her deeply.”
In a second video posted on her Instagram, Himaanshika shared a collection of photos and videos featuring Radhika.
